A fasting glucose plasma blood test is a test used to measure the amount of glucose, or sugar, in a person's blood after they have fasted for a certain period of time. The test is typically performed in the morning, after the person has fasted overnight. It is used to diagnose and monitor diabetes, as well as to identify other conditions that may affect blood sugar levels, such as pancreatic disorders and hormonal imbalances. The test is performed on a small sample of blood taken from a vein in the arm.
